Caregiver Program: Communities Prepared for Re-Entry

Caregiver Program: Communities Prepared for Re-entry Through listening to the women in our original group, we discovered the lack of dedicated interventions focused on caregivers (mothers, aunts, grandmothers) of children that have caused community harm, especially as they support them through the vulnerable reentry period. No programs – none – existed before WAB2G responded to these “silent sufferers.” The Caregiver Program, like all WAB2G programs, is rooted in the Theory of Change and our Six Principles. It follows a Mentor/Mentee model in which caregiver mentors continue their journey and personal reentry plan while acting as mentors for a new group of women caregivers-their mentees. The program lasts 10 weeks and we run two cohorts annually.
