Case Manager & Outreach Supervisor

Hours: Full-Time, some evenings and weekends

Salary: $65,000-$70,000/year

Location: We Are Better Together, Roxbury, MA

 

Overview

We Are Better Together Warren Daniel Hairston Project, Inc. (WAB2G) is a non-profit organization. founded by Ruth Rollins in 2017, after the murder of her son Danny Hairston and the incarceration of her second son. WAB2G engages and empowers those on both sides of gun violence in the peacemaking process and brings together the community families on both sides of homicide and incarceration to foster healing and unity in the community. 

The Case Manager and Outreach Supervisor will collaborate with the WAB2G team, City, and community partners to connect and support residents impacted by homicide and incarceration to supportive services. This team member is responsible for leading the Community Healing Response Network Team, supervising case management staff, and providing trauma-informed support to residents impacted by homicide and incarceration, including overseeing and improving intake, assessment, and outreach processes to ensure effective community engagement and high-quality service delivery. They will report to the Director of Programs.

Responsibilities:

 

Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead the Community Healing Response Network Team by developing outreach strategies, delegating tasks, and monitoring performance goals.
  • Supervise and mentor other case managers to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed service delivery and adherence to best practices.
  • Create and deliver training programs to equip the team with skills for effective community engagement and facilitation.

 

Program Delivery & Direct Service

  • Conduct client intakes and assessments 
  • Manage a personal caseload, providing strengths-based support to residents impacted by homicide and incarceration.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups and community meetings to foster healing and unity
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized plans and facilitate referrals with community partners for comprehensive care.
  • Represent WAB2G at community events and partner meetings to align program goals with community needs.

 

Process Improvement & Administration

  • Evaluate and refine outreach and intake processes to improve overall efficiency.
  • Oversee data entry and the generation of reports to ensure all outreach and case management activities are documented accurately.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Strong Case management, advocacy, and outreach skills
  • Strong organizational, public speaking, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with residents impacted by violence in a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed way
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Workspace (Email, Drive), and Zoom.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

 

Experience & Education

  • 2+ years’ experience working in the field OR Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in social work, nonprofit management, public health, public policy, or related field
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience Facilitating psychoeducational groups
  • Applicants must demonstrate prior experience working with families in alignment with the WAB2G mission, particularly those impacted by community harm, incarceration, or multiple forms of trauma.
